Mandela is a terrorist, and not the pretend kind invented to steal other people's resources. The only amazing thing about him is that his case demonstrates the absolute power that the mainstream media has to influence those who seemingly have no will of their own. The beginning of his rule in South Africa marks the beginning of legendary levels of corruption, where his family and the families of many other so-called struggle heroes enriched themselves at the expense of the very same people they were pretending to bomb civilians for in all those long years.
Today, South Africa has fallen apart. The only mirage of organisation that remains is maintained by the lies of an ex-MK member, who surely derives his powers of bullshitting from a head that looks like a pinched loaf. Strikes and violent protests are the everyday norm, and the news for the most part no longer even reports on them, in the same manner that they don't report on the sun rising that morning.
The South African police recently massacred dozens of striking mineworkers in an effort to "maintain order" for the mine. If you don't know: The people who regularly speak about maintaining order actually mean to maintain profitability, either for themselves or their benefactors. Nearly 20 years of democracy in South Africa has demonstrated the very real faults designed into the system, which, like mandela himself, is praised ad nauseum, despite the facts.
Look past the heavy propaganda right now, and you'll find that this post treats him with more respect than his handlers apparently are. After years of being paraded around like some catatonic totem, he has been declared effectively dead, but you would never know it listening to the biggest bullshitters in Africa. Much money has been invested into the "Mandela @ 95" brand name, and you can bet that he will be kept relatively unrotted until such time as most of the party's over, and the greatest media frenzy can be derived from his death.
The wikipedia article for the anc's militant wing still has many details on their attacks on civilian meeting places such as bars and restaurants, but I'll highlight this one section in the post, as it perfectly demonstrates the spirit of the anc's rule in the so-called post-apartheid South Africa:
A bomb was detonated in a bar on the Durban beach-front in 1986, killing three civilians and injuring 69. Robert McBride received the death penalty for this bombing which became known as the "Magoo's Bar bombing". Although the subsequent Truth and Reconciliation Committee called the bombing a "gross violation of human rights", McBride received amnesty and became a senior police officer.
The next generation of gaming consoles is shaking the world with its death rattle. Turns out sony shooting themselves in the foot seems like a misstep after microsoft felt that they should not be outdone. But the people who still have intentions to buy into the next generation of DRM boxes spoke, and the message was clear: Fuck you.
Full strip in today's Penny Arcade
No surprise, after the recent revelations about the back room deals of just about every major technology company on the internet. Make no mistake; the only protection intended by ubiquitous spying is the protection of profit.
That they would think that they could make any kind of significant profit from another generation of consoles during the collapse of currency is one thing, but for them to think they could do it with the "xbox one world one order" is beyond me. Perhaps they're just having a laugh. Perhaps they don't have internet or teevee or radio in their bunker.
The failure of the next gen console has, strictly speaking, not yet happened. Somehow, though, the fall has already reverberated backwards in time and out through one of the (now ex) spokes-holes of microsoft. Let their arrogance and stupidity stand as a warning to all who can see:
When dealing with the bullshit vendor class of merchants, the questions that don't get answered are usually the important ones. Building 7 is an obvious example, seemingly not existing in the wild and inaccurate saga of 9/11 as it is known in the mainstream.
Exposition in a short article describes bitcoin thus:
Bitcoin is a form of fully-digital currency that is widely used is some (often seedy) corners of the Internet. “Bitcoin mining” refers to the algorithmic process by which Bitcoins are earned. A computer or group of computers attempts to solve an extremely complex equation, and once the answer has been reached, a block of Bitcoins are awarded. The equations get more and more difficult as the years go on to compensate for increased computing power.
It can take years to solve just one of these equations on a single PC, so as a result some people network their PCs in a coordinated effort.
Desperate and short-lived schemes are apparently the staple of collapsing economies. Bitcoin seems to fall into this category, purporting to solve the problem of currency issue, but introducing significant problems of its own. I conclude its moment of prime profit must be short-lived because I strongly suspect that gaping flaws work much better for currencies people were born with, than one that's sold to them in the age in which many persons carry an evolved resistance to infomercials.
It so happens that it is also the age in which giant banks (beneficiaries of the current gaping flaws in currency issue) extract further advantage by using massively powerful server farms and low latency network connections to automate sheep shearing of the stock market, AKA High-Frequncy Trading.
A question you won't find answered relating to bitcoins, is how those who already acquired the most resources would be prevented from extracting unfair advantage via the new system. Bitcon is designed around the premise that more processing power equals more money. Even if the generation of bitcoins could be limited per account, the creation of fake accounts (in effect fake persons) could not be limited without a key component.
The solution to this basic design flaw that we're no doubt meant to come up with—but not until enough people have a stake in the success of the bitcon—is that a hard accounting should be made of all activity by some appointed authority. Being the first true digital, and global, currency, that would require a detailed (and mandatory) centralised global ID system, tied directly to your financial activity.
It is particularly noteworthy that further centralisation is usually the solution offered by the bullshit vendor class of merchant, having extracted all the profit from the problem that it could. Centralisation serves to concentrate control, and means therefore power. It is further noteworthy that control and power (or "order" as it is amorously referred to) is usually sought by those so unable to cope with the realities of existence that they go to extremes to make the universe appear to accord with their limited understandings.
The rest of the jokes in today's Penny Arcade.
I've been following this comic for years, and recently linked this important document posted by one of its creators.
The answer is always more art; the corollary to that is the answer is never less art. If you start to think that less art is the answer, start over. That’s not the side you want to be on. The problem isn’t that people create or enjoy offensive work. The problem is that so many people believe that culture is something other people create, the sole domain of some anonymized other, so they never put their hat in the ring. That even with a computer in your pocket connected to an instantaneous global network, no-one can hear you. When you believe that, really believe it, the devil dances in hell.
To say that our society is bifurcating is an oversimplification, but it seems clear that two distinct paths will dominate. First we have "our" dying culture. To name it would be to invite lobbyists to subvert yet another idea in favour of the status quo, but I expect we all have a relatively clear sense of what its constituent parts are: Materialism, wilful ignorance, lack of empathy, all symptoms of unchecked fear. It's been inevitable since fear was a thing, but its current form started taking recognisable shape when mass-produced media made it possible for people with money to speak louder than anyone else. Since then it's been maturing at a growing pace, and right now this culture is discovering ways for itself and its participants to die of their own stupidity.
We're past the point where it was getting surreal. Surreal levels of imbecility, broadcast en masse, is the new normal. This is all anyone could really expect from anything that could only flourish where cognitive dissonance is a requirement of participation.
Today we'll be focusing on the trends in gaming. If you weren't aware, games are the emerging art form of our times. Somewhere in the range of 90 to 99 percent of everything that's sold in this medium is utter shit. Never has this been more apparent than it is now. I now follow the medium strategically, no longer avidly; letting the news find me. Even from this level it is clearly apparent that the old guard—the money men—are begging to be put out of their misery. The newly-announced PS4 is such a good example that I just had to put in a few words about it. Here are some straight words on the matter from an unbiased source. In this case, unbiased means "not a conspiracy theorist".
Yes, sony have shot themselves in the foot. So painful was their action that it could be felt ahead of time. If some of the things I've heard about windows 8 are any indication, microsoft will guillotine both their own proverbial legs in response to their rival (though it's hard to imagine them making a bigger mess). How this happened, I will attribute to the visible results of the Paris Hilton Effect. To summarise: They are building on foundations that in no way can support the weight they wish to put on it. In this case, the weight is immense. As the second linked article from the Penny Arcade Report points out, sony has no idea what it seeks to accomplish (except profit). So they have turned to this second's buzzword: Social. While there are many eyes—and thus ad revenue—in the world of social, there is not much of anything that matters. Massively expensive viral campaigns come and go before they can make any impact more substantial than a few million "lol"s. It's the weakest of weak foundations, and sony's next gen console is the heaviest single thing I've yet seen placed on it. The crash has not yet happened, but it is already being felt.
The other way
Which leads us to the second path humans can take. Sentient beings have the ability to sense the future, and it's clear that emerging trends are nurturing this ability even in those that do not actively seek it. In truth, I suspect it's not so much an ability to see the future as it is an ability to see the present, along with a projection of consequences. The culture in which we have been immersed is toxic, and it's getting close enough to the end game that human mammals are starting to feel mortally threatened, and our sense of survival are bringing useful abilities to the fore. We live in interesting times. For many this will not be a curse, but an awakening.
Happy new b'ak'tun.
It's been feeling for a while now that we're splitting off from each other, and that feeling has just kept getting more powerful for me. If you look at the media, you could certainly be convinced for yourself. The muppets in america are clearly being driven to each other's throats, caught as always in utter terror. Turns out parenting interferes with pawing away hours at your cell phone, now we have to ban all the things so that the adult world can become a child-friendly version of itself to accommodate the worst examples of ourselves; pretending that the utterly exceptional is the norm. No doubt they're lobbying to get oprah and dr phil inserted as a suppository for every man, woman and child, because accepting their programming via the teevee has clearly done so much already. It doesn't satisfy much that I put in the words early.
A couple of years ago, I benefited from a borderline psychedelic experience thanks to some magic mushrooms that had mostly gone off by the time they reached me. I asked what was ahead for us, vis-a-vis the new b'ak'tun, and my subconscious answered in the form of the semi-vivid, symbolic vision that my mind appears to favour. It showed two spirals, or maybe two directions in the same one. The rotations on one keeps getting smaller, while the ones in the other direction keep growing outwards. It showed me that most of us were in the shrinking one, but that by now, most of us would have migrated out of there. The implication was that chasing the shrinking spiral was a result of acting in fear, and the further implication was that the shrinking would eventually mean for everyone on that path a kind of spiritual death, if not a physical one. I realised what that meant for me personally, and found it difficult to believe that I would in the interim give up my (fear-induced) habit of tracking and saving important world news, or trying to front-run the future via the reports of a "rickety time machine", but now that's already happened.
If you haven't noticed the spiral getting smaller, you haven't been paying proper attention. Most people have been pulling into themselves, trying to live in a fractal of things that were once tiny; getting all worked up and interested in things like coffee and food, then hiding there. Watch satellite teevee and you'll find prison and cop shows trying to convince you that big brother is everywhere and that not even a gram of weed could escape the "great eye". Switch the channel and you'll find people trying to convince you to spend hours a day preparing meals. Be only afraid of al CIA-da, the other channels beg: "Don't worry that the most terrified nation on earth murders their own citizens in false flag attacks for an excuse to secure other people's resources and your own: We got people whose job it is to worry about that, and they seem quite satisfied, sleeping on mattresses made of stolen oil money."
The propaganda is only going to get clearer and more self-defeating as time drags on. Satirists have been out of work for years now, their jobs taken away by people who thought they were being serious. A once (relatively) reputable south african news site spammed this into the headlines, like it wasn't an ad. I wonder what they think they will be left with once people spent all the energy they had left on getting worked up at summer, coffee, cat pictures, or the left-hind leg of big potato moths. Probably willing shells with which to make war on the rest of us.
I am not afraid.
It should shame any sentient being to say that fully seven years passed before they could see 9/11 for what it is, as was the case with me, but luckily most people who would judge me are still unable to hold the necessary concepts in their heads long enough to form a picture. It is my opinion now that this event was intended not only for sale of the terrorism surveillance state and what will probably turn out to be the last terran-only war, but also to divide the people of earth between those who can see what is in front of them, and those who cannot or will not. Divide and conquer may be an old trick, but as you may note from much the same people responsible for funding new hollywoodland films, originality and creativity comes not when your motivations are fear first and profit second.
What most often comes first to someone who is fortunate enough to have all those trees suddenly click to form a forest, is the impulse to go off crusading to free your co-humans from this most cowardly of world orders. Frustration is then encountered as you begin to notice the utterly obvious way in which most people, including yourself, are accustomed to think and act along the rigidly-defined lines as supplied by years of being surrounded by matured media. Indeed, it is this frustration that is meant to divide the people into "sheeple" and a new harvest of "illuminated ones".
Another fallacy that the newly-sighted have to deal with is that of centralised control, and I think that the impulse to free all is partly or completely derived from this line of thinking. You will inevitably observe this riding on the back of the truth movement: "Every bank turned out to be stealing, therefore we should have a centralised institution to monitor them." What the hilarious euro should have already demonstrated is that even a subset of life's problems are far too complex to have a single solution. Already this manner of institution is being attempted to regulate the universally-evil carbon dioxide. They do try so very hard. Never mind that everything these institutions do will happen behind closed doors, and include in its governing body people that no one and nothing except the requirements of capital elected. Never mind that every cent from the trillions of the first global tax will be spent in secret, until leaks open up a scandal of the oldest kind, to be buried behind some celebrity's sudden death.
No. It is no-one's duty to free everyone from themselves. It is my lifelong duty to free myself from my own stupidity. It's not the state's duty, and it is most certainly not that of the new world order. Giving up every ounce of life force to a pyramidal control structure in return for the protection of a police state is an extension of every person's right to make their own choices. Is someone a prisoner while they cannot perceive the bars on their cell and would never think to venture near them?
But let's not consider only the lowest common denominator, the state's staple diet. There are many who will need help, and that just might make the difference between their continued destruction under the current world order and the start of their lives as free human beings. Knowledge, for one thing, is something that can be shared without being diminished. In fact, it only improves with the assistance of another mind.
Still, many people will die here whose most admirable achievement will have been to paw at their tablets after gratification like some cosmically disappointing hamster seeking its next food pellet. There will be a reality show where someone comes to tie the shoes of those too voluminous or mentally deficient to do it themselves. The choice of this destiny is every person's right.
Here then is a useful word for everyone who insists on a police state to protect their infantile features:
Hau is a word used in southern Africa, and it can be translated to mean "I don't know". Most of the time "how this happened/works" can be suffixed. It is notable in that it often represents the the final step in the most ambitious attempt the user will make in understanding a problem. I suspect it will become much more widely useful than it is even now. Examples:
In order for a building to collapse into its own footprint at free-fall speed, all its load-bearing supports need to be severed at close to the exact same moment. How could this happen due to fire?
If all liquidity is introduced into the system as a loan from a bank, having interest, which means the amount that needs to be repaid is more than what was created, how could you expect anything other than infinite debt or collapse?
Having accepted that they are not capable of producing even possible hypotheses to relatively simple questions, even if their thought pattens are ruler-straight (like this dipshit), people are then free to proceed in giving all of their labour and love to the first charlatan or shill that are capable of speaking the loudest and producing the most shiny false dichotomies and straw man arguments. They have my blessing to continue in banging their heads against trees, trying to jetpack away from within what is actually a dense forest. In a moment of weakness during frustration I may still mark them with the name of sheeple. But that's not because their life is worth less than mine, only because it's apparently worth more to me than it is to them.

EDIT 2012/06/18: If you're not aware of the trans-pacific partnership, you should be.
There will always be those that would challenge you for being different, because we are shifting. If we weren't moving (physically, mentally, spiritually...) we would not be alive. Life fractally affects diversification to ensure continuation and invention, which also means at least some number would always be moving in opposite directions. We seem to be shifting pretty fast now, which returns even more friction than the usual bounce of things.
We shouldn't let stand what we feel is wrong, but we have in our clearly incomplete process of collectively maturing, been stuck with the idea of trying to prevent anything bad from ever happening again. That is where you start to get all these non-functioning pyramidal control structures, that have turned bloated with corruption, as they have centralised and accumulated the unwanted type of creatures that are attracted to power because they feel they cannot attain anything honestly. In a seemingly desperate but failing attempt to stay relevant in an increasingly informed world, what they sell now includes a thousand different causes to get all rah rah about from the comfort of your own home. If women have a problem with the system, blame the men. If you're black, blame the whites, or the illegal immigrants, Chinese or Arabs if you're white. Never the detached top of the pyramid with the eye everyone is afraid to look into, which itself has a request, begging "blame the sheeple". Never yourself for falling for it.
